Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of construction projects from commencement through to completion, ensuring works are completed safely, accurately, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.

The Site Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, subcontractors, design team, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set out and oversee construction works in accordance with drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Carry out site surveys, levelling, and accurate setting out using appropriate equipment.
  • Review construction drawings and specifications and identify any discrepancies or potential issues.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure works are completed to the required quality standards.
  • Coordinate with site management, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and other members of the project team.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, measurements, site diaries, and progress updates.
  • Assist with the preparation and management of quality inspections and quality assurance documentation.
  • Ensure materials and works are in accordance with project specifications and approved drawings.
  • Assist with the planning and scheduling of site activities to ensure project deadlines are achieved.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and progress.
  • Identify and report any technical issues, delays, or risks to the Site Manager or Project Manager.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in line with health, safety, environmental, and company policies.
  • Attend site meetings and contribute to project progress and coordination discussions.
  • Assist with the preparation of as-built drawings and project handover documentation.
  • Support the successful completion and handover of projects.

Requirements

  • Degree or qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience working as a Site Engineer within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and processes.
  • Experience with setting out equipment, including GPS, total stations, and levelling equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety requirements on construction sites.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering or construction software.
  • Full driving licence.

Desirable

  • Experience working on commercial, residential, civil, or industrial construction projects.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and other relevant engineering software.
  • Knowledge of quality management and inspection procedures.
  • Relevant health and safety qualifications.
