Accounts Assistant
CREGG are seeking an organised, proactive and accurate Accounts Assistant to join our client, based in Shannon, Co. Clare. This is a part-time position, working three days per week, within the Finance team and reporting to the Head of Finance initially on a 9-month contract, with a possibility of permanency. The successful candidate will have day-to-day responsibility for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities across the parent company and managed entities, as well as employee expenses, bank reconciliations and compliance with internal payment controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Accounts Payable function, including invoice set-up, approval routing and tracking of payables for the parent company and managed entities.
  • Manage the payments process, ensuring suppliers and counterparties are paid accurately and on time.
  • Support the Accounts Receivable process, including billing servicing fees and other fees and tracking receipts.
  • Prepare recharge invoices for subsidiaries and related entities.
  • Review and process employee expense claims and administer the expense management system.
  • Complete daily bank reconciliations for the parent company and its subsidiaries.
  • Review the bi-monthly VAT returns for Ireland and the UK.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, working to tight deadlines.
  • Support the month-end close-out process.
  • Assist other Finance team members with audit requirements and other assignments.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the Finance team and wider business as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an accounts or finance role, with hands-on experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Accounting Technician qualification would be highly advantageous.
  • Good Excel skills, including the use of formulae for reconciliation and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the business.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
