Automation (Controls) Engineer II
Automation (Controls) Engineer required for Galway’s world leading multinational medical device manufacturing client. Automation Engineers with strong Allen Bradley PLC experience encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:
- Defines Control Platform and Delivers Software
- Manages projects and portions of projects as part of a larger team.
- Troubleshoot equipment downtime and supporting integration of electrical and mechanical software components for new production line installs.
- Supervises the work and gives direction to other Junior Machine Control Engineers.
- Determines Project schedules and works with team and other departments across the plant to ensure adherence.
- Works closely with the customer to understand requirements and propose creative and cost effective solutions.
The following technical skills are desirable:
- Experience with PLC-based control systems.
- Allen-Bradley / Rockwell experience essential.
- Experience with vision systems such as Cognex or Keyence preferred.
- Exposure to Beckhoff, Epson robots, motion control, and HMI/SCADA (Ignition) systems desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and machine documentation.
- Experience with commissioning, testing, and equipment support activities.
- Knowledge of structured problem-solving and continuous improvement methods.
Key Requirements:
Level 8 degree in Mechatronics/Automation/Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Minimum 2 years experience as Automation Engineer
