Senior Field Service Engineer

Senior Field Service Engineer- Limerick
Our Client in the Semiconductor industry are now recruiting for a Senior Field Service Engineer with strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills to support their international operations.

The Senior Field Service Engineer will work independently in a customer-facing environment, delivering technical expertise and service excellence across semiconductor and clean industries.
This position will be based in Limerick for the initial 6 – 12 months with up to 75% Europe-based after initial period 6 – 12-month period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex equipment issues on-site
  • Commission tools, perform retrofits, and provide training to customers
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring, and blueprints
  • Write and troubleshoot PLC code (ladder logic)
  • Lead projects and mentor junior engineers
  • Exercises independent judgment in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues. 
  • Provide expert-level support and training to customers
  • Repair equipment in the field.
  • Point to point wiring and soldering according to blueprint.
  • Assemble electrical bundling wires in a neat and easy to access manner labeling all wires. 
  • Assemble valves, fitting and plumbing components leak tight.
  • Use power hand tools safely and efficiently including but not limited to drill motors, solder, multi-metes, crimpers, stud weld gun and drill presses.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant discipline, with experience in the semiconductor industry
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
  • Strong electrical wiring and plumbing experience.
  • Comfortable traveling across Europe (up to 75% post Ireland project)
  • Able to work independently and manage customer-focused projects
