Role Overview
We are seeking a Payroll / Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance and administration team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone with strong payroll experience, excellent attention to detail and the ability to support both payroll and accounts administration in a busy office environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll, while maintaining compliance with Irish payroll legislation, Revenue requirements, GDPR obligations and statutory reporting. The role will also support the Accounts Department across accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, sales order processing, shipping documentation and general office administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll accurately and on time.
- Ensure compliance with Irish tax, employment legislation, Revenue requirements and GDPR regulations.
- Maintain accurate employee data across payroll and time management systems.
- Prepare payroll, accounts and management reports as required.
- Assist the Accounts Department with accounts payable and accounts receivable duties.
- Process supplier invoices, customer invoices and related documentation.
- Support sales order processing and preparation of shipping documentation.
- Assist with Revenue, CSO and other statutory returns as required.
- Carry out data entry and maintain accurate finance and administration records.
- Place purchase orders and assist with supplier/customer queries.
- Provide telephone, reception and general office support.
- Support the wider finance and administration team with ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience processing payroll for 75+ employees.
- Strong knowledge of Irish payroll legislation, Revenue systems and statutory requirements.
- IPASS qualification or a business/accounting-related qualification is desirable.
- Previous experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable or general accounts administration.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality.
- Ability to work to deadlines in a busy office environment.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and implementing solutions.
- Strong work ethic and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
