Machine Operative – Steel

CREGG are looking for Machine Operatives, for full time, long term work in Oranmore, Co. Galway.

Our client is a metal manufacturing company, looking to add a full time staff member to their production team.

We are looking for candidates who are mechanical minded, with passion for working with machines and are good at problem solving.

Job description – Machine Operative:

• Machine Operation: Operate and set up workshop tools such as press brakes, guillotines, plasma cutters, and saws.
• Production Work: Fabricate and assemble steel components according to technical drawings.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished components for accuracy, ensuring measurements meet specifications, and that products are free of defects.
• Maintenance & Safety: Perform daily maintenance on machinery, troubleshoot minor faults, and adhere strictly to health and safety regulations.
• Material Handling: Load and unload raw materials and finished products using overhead cranes or hoists.
• Documentation: Complete production logs and quality reports, often using computer systems.

Hours of work:

• 43 hours per week
• Monday to Friday
• 07:00 – 17:00 (early finish on Friday)

Rate of Pay:

• €16.63 per hour

Job requirements – Machine Operative:

• Previous experience working in engineering/mechanical industry (min 1 year).
• Good knowledge of machines, tools, etc.
• Excellent attention to details and good problem-solving skills.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity.

Contract type:

• Full time (6 month probation)
• Permanent/Long term

We are looking for candidates who are flexible to start within 2 weeks' notice.

Please note Machine Operative role is a full time, long term position that will lead to permanent employment for the right candidates.
