The Role
As the Welding Inspector, you’ll play a key role in ensuring all welding and fabrication work meets the highest quality and compliance standards. Working closely with production and engineering teams, you’ll help maintain exceptional workmanship across a range of stainless steel and carbon steel fabrication projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out visual inspections of welded fabrications.
- Ensure compliance with EN1090, approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), and relevant welding standards.
- Review welding documentation, material certificates, and inspection records.
- Identify non-conformances and support corrective actions.
- Coordinate and support Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities where required.
- Maintain accurate inspection and traceability documentation.
- Support internal and external quality audits.
- Promote a strong culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- CSWIP, IWI, or equivalent Welding Inspection qualification.
- Experience inspecting stainless steel and carbon steel fabrications.
- Strong understanding of EN1090 and welding quality standards.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret weld symbols.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work collaboratively within a production environment.
