Electrical Technician
CREGG are hiring for an Electrical Technician to join a leading Manufacturing company on their Limerick site. Electricians, Electrical Technicians, Electrical Maintenance Technicians back ground would suit this position.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where you'll be responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance (PMI), responding to equipment breakdowns, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You'll work closely with production teams, fellow engineers, and equipment manufacturers to ensure maximum machine reliability and efficiency.

Shift Pattern
- Monday to Thursday:
- 07:00 – 15:00
- 15:00 – 23:00 (rotating)
- Friday:
- One hour shorter shift
What You'll Be Doing
Planned Maintenance & Reliability
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PMI) activities to the highest standard.
- Carry out inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems.
- Complete maintenance tasks using the Shire maintenance management system.
- Record maintenance activities accurately to meet company and regulatory requirements.
Breakdown Support
- Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns.
- Diagnose electrical faults using logical and systematic fault-finding techniques.
- Restore equipment safely and efficiently to minimise production downtime.
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to engineering improvement projects across the site.
- Support the installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of new and existing equipment.
- Work with machine operators to identify recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to the PMI Coordinator and Maintenance Manager.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work collaboratively with production operators, mechanical engineers and facilities engineers.
- Communicate effectively with machine manufacturers and external suppliers when required.
- Assist with sourcing and ordering spare parts.
- Ensure effective shift handovers and maintain excellent communication within the engineering team.
Health & Safety
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture.
- Follow all site Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of work.
- Identify and report hazards, near misses and incidents.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
What We're Looking For
You'll be a hands-on engineer with a positive attitude and a passion for delivering reliable engineering solutions.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance (PPM/PMI) systems.
- A good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- A willingness to develop new skills and work across multiple engineering disciplines.
