Electrical Operational Lead

Location: Shannon, Co Clare (Nationwide Travel Required)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Electrical Operational Lead to oversee the delivery of our electrical and solar (PV) operations across Ireland. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for managing electrical teams, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining the highest safety standards, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

The successful candidate will have a strong electrical background, proven leadership experience, and practical knowledge of commercial and industrial solar PV installations. They will play a key role in expanding our renewable energy services while ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality electrical projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of electrical and solar PV installation teams.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee multiple electrical and renewable energy projects simultaneously.
  • Ensure all work complies with Irish electrical regulations, industry standards, and company procedures.
  • Promote a strong Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) culture across all operations.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support to electricians, supervisors, and apprentices.
  • Conduct site inspections, quality audits, and safety reviews.
  • Work closely with clients, project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitor project progress, labour productivity, and budgets, implementing improvements where required.
  • Support project planning, estimating, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure all electrical testing, commissioning, certification, and documentation are completed to the highest standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency across the business.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Qualified Electrician with a recognised electrical trade qualification.
  • Extensive experience managing electrical operations, installations, or maintenance teams.
  • Proven leadership experience within commercial, industrial, or utility electrical environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish electrical regulations and health and safety legislation.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering commercial and industrial solar PV projects.
  • Excellent understanding of solar PV systems, inverters, battery storage systems, and electrical integration.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
