Evening Shift – Senior Machine Operator
CREGG are hiring a Senior Machine Operator for our Shannon-based client who operates in advanced materials production, requiring dependable production operators to support their ongoing success.
Role Overview:
Carry out activities relating to the overall flow of materials into and out of the Cut-Shop and Solids QC area, thereby contributing to OTIF order completion enabling HMT to maintain the service level agreements in place. Whilst contributing to this OTIF order completion, the highest level of quality control demanded by HMT must be always maintained. The WEDM Operative also ensures the production area is a safe environment by contributing to a positive health & safety culture and always performing stipulated and general safe work practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate wire EDMs, Grit Blaster and all metrology tools associated with solids inspection.
- Perform minor tooling changes, setup and troubleshooting on production equipment.
- Assist area experts in completing higher difficulty tooling setup, changeovers and troubleshooting.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks including lubrication, filter changes, equipment cleanliness, and other as necessary.
- Transact the movement of material and quality inspection results on ERP system.
- Prepare goods for shipping department, this includes primary packaging and batch labelling.
- Ensure solids related Work Instructions (WI) are kept up to date and relevant to any changes.
- Support other activities as necessary.

Education and/or Work Experience:
- PC Skills: Familiar with MS office package, ERP experience beneficial
- Toolmaker background, or experience using CNC machine beneficial
- Able to work independently without supervision, and familiarity with lone man working procedures.
Technical Skills:
- Ideally 1 to 3 years' experience in a similar role beneficial
- Working in a fast-paced environment, with proven capability to handle and prioritize multiple orders for cutting, QC and packing.
- Can multitask with attention to detail
Working Hours:
Evening Shift with working hours for 16:00 to 12:00AM, Day shift required during training period.
Monday – Friday
Contract:
Full time – Permanent Contract
Pay Rate:
€33'000 yearly + 18% shift allowance
